Diamonite™ is a proprietary aqueous autocatalytic nickel boron hard plating system that produces a very hard wear resistant surface with a low coefficient of friction. Diamonite™ is ideal for depositing a smooth and uniform plating barrier on inside diameters and on complex configurations of parts. The plating is precipitated baked after application to increase the hardness to over 1000 Vickers microhardness. Diamonite™ is ideal for parts that need to wear and last longer and at the same time run smoother, cooler, and quieter. Other advantages of the Diamonite™ system include the following: - Excellent Adhesion on most alloys including Titanium.
- Ductile at high hardness levels.
- Non-fatiguing on high strength alloys.
- Non-embrittling.
- Reduction in fretting and galling.
- Good impact resistance.
- Operate in temperatures up to 1000° F.
- Outwears Hard Chrome.
- Outwears Nickel Phosphorus.
- Outperforms Ceramic.
- Re-workable with no effect to most alloys.
Diamonite Plus is a composite matrix of Diamonite™ Plating impregnated with a unique low frictional polymer. This co-deposition of a polymer provides a means of self-lubrication that eliminates the need for additional lubricants. Diamonite Plus is a unique combination of exceptional hardness combined with increased lubricity, and may offer the potential for significant energy savings in high friction wear parts. Diamonite™ and Diamonite Plus can be used in a myriad of areas to reduce wear and improve performance, including bearing applications, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing textile equipment and military applications. Diamonite™ conforms to the requirements of the following specifications: - AMS 2433, Type I
- PWA 259, Type II
- ASTM B 607, Type II, All Classes, All Grades
